Smartline Shines at Industry Awards
12 March, 2007
National mortgage broking group Smartline has added to its impressive list of industry accolades, picking up the award for the mortgage group of the year at the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia’s (MFAA) National Excellence Awards held recently.
The awards, presented on Friday 2 March at the Crown Towers Melbourne, recognise the mortgage and finance industry’s most successful individuals and businesses.
Smartline was judged on a range of criteria including Customer Management, Human Resources, Business Processes, Sales Marketing and PR and Financial Performance and trounced some of Australia’s largest mortgage broking groups including Wizard Home Loans, RAMS Home Loans, Mortgage Choice and Aussie Home Loans.
The MFAA award follows Smartline’s successes at the Australian Mortgage Awards in August 2006, where it was named ‘Operation of the Year’.
“Smartline has grown in leaps and bounds since launching in 1999. The MFAA award is a testament to the outstanding service our 138 franchise offices across the country provide and the mechanisms we’ve put in place to support them,” said Mr Chris Acret, Managing Director of Smartline.
As well as picking up the ‘Group Aggregator/Originator’ award, Smartline was a finalist in two other award categories.
These included the ‘Mortgage Broker of the Year’ award for Cathy Anderson, Franchise Owner of Smartline Blackwood, and the ‘Finance Broking Business of the Year’ for the Smartline Footscray office owned by Darren Edginton and Brian Hocking.
According to MFAA Chief Executive Phil Naylor, “it’s been another year of impressive entries, showing our members are excelling in all areas of mortgage and finance broking. This year’s winners and finalists continue to raise the bar for the industry through exceptional service and dedication to their customers.”
