Young family makes short-term change for long-term gain.
The decision for Cole to go to University to study music was the catalyst for his family to move from their home on the Central Coast and purchase a new property in Toronto, near Newcastle. With four children under the age of five, Cole and his wife Nadine needed to reduce their mortgage repayments to keep on top of their finances.
Cole also regularly commuted to Sydney for music gigs and teaching jobs so wanted to minimise any additional travel time.
The Busseys turned to Smartline Personal Adviser Kevin Lee for assistance having used him in the past to secure a loan to purchase land and build their first home.
With Kevin’s help, they decided to sell their Central Coast home and use the equity from the sale to relocate to Toronto.
“We decided to move to Toronto for a variety of reasons. As well as being more affordable, the move gets me closer to Newcastle Uni which cuts down on travel time and costs. We also have family in Newcastle,” said Cole.
Kevin also arranged a new home loan for the Busseys, opting for a ‘no-frills’ loan.
The Busseys were able to purchase a three-bedroom home with a pool and shed – which they’ve converted into the perfect space for Cole to practice. And Cole can still achieve his dream of going to Uni.
“Had the Busseys not come to me for assistance, they would not have been living in the home they are today,” said Kevin.
“They are a great family that had the guts and determination to make a change to improve their lifestyle in the long term and I’m proud to have helped them,” said Kevin.
