When the banks don't cut it.
It was disappointment with their current bank that prompted Melbourne couple Jan and Fred to seek out other options to refinance their home.
“We were extremely disappointed when our long term bank (one of the big four) would not even listen to our plans for refinancing our home to improve our successful business,” Fred said.
He added that his bank had not been interested in helping him refinance his loan even after 37 years of private and business transactions.
After three months of trying, Fred was advised by the couple’s solicitor to approach Smartline. “Within a very short period, our goal was reached,” he said.
The couple was helped by Southbank Smartline personal mortgage adviser Cam Yangco, who organised the refinancing of Fred and Jan’s existing home as well as an additional loan to finance their business expansion.
“It is a sad indictment that our bank only came into play when we were trying to finalise our accounts with them, and they stalled the clearance,” Fred said.
“Now all has settled, the Mears’ are very happy with the whole process and structure of the loans, which has left them feeling like there was very little adjustment required from their part as far as changing banks.”

“Nothing was ever a bother with Cam, even many weeks after our change over (of the loan).”
Six weeks after the commencement of their loan, Cam rang Jan to make sure that Jan was ok with all the new day to day transaction details.
