16th time lucky for this young UK family seeking a home loan.
For young English couple Ed and Frances, purchasing a house was tough, with the couple contacting 15 mortgage brokers before Smartline finally put in the hard yards to help get them the mortgage they wanted.
The Davis family moved to Australia from the UK in January and a couple of months later, decided to purchase a house. Ed, a specialist imported-car mechanic and Frances, a qualified aged care worker, had the potential to service a mortgage and raise their two children. However, no local savings or employment history coupled with a small deposit meant they did not meet many lenders' criteria.
“We saw a lot of brokers who put us in the too hard basket. They either couldn’t help us, or once they got us to the next stage, couldn’t secure us enough finance to purchase a home,” said Ed.
“We found Smartline Mortgage Broker Wendy Perry through the internet and the service was great. She would visit after work, she was thorough, and basically did everything no-one else wanted to do,” he said.
“She showed us how much we could really afford, how much deposit we would need and took the time to show us how we could get the home we wanted and within our means.”
Ed and Frances are now proud owners of a three-bedroom home. “We wanted to live close to the beach to make the most of the weather and the Australian lifestyle. So far we haven’t been disappointed with either,” said Ed.
