Smartline picks an Australian Mortgage Award

21/08/2006

National mortgage broking franchise Smartline has won the gong for ‘Franchise Operation of the Year’ at the annual Australian Mortgage Awards held in Sydney’s Luna Park on Friday 18 August, 2006.

The prestigious industry award recognises the success of franchise operations in providing smaller players with the corporate branding and support to compete on the ‘big stage’.

Smartline was selected from a group of strong finalists including Mortgage Choice, RAMS Home Loans, The Mortgage Gallery, Australian Brokers and City Pacific Finance.

“We are very proud to have won the award,” said Chris Acret, Managing Director of Smartline.

“We have an excellent network of some 127 franchises across Australia and the support mechanisms in place to ensure the continued success of each Smartline operator – both individually and as part of a bigger group.”

As well as receiving the accolade for ‘Franchise Operation of the Year’, Smartline was also named a finalist in three other categories.

These included ‘The Spurling Formalwear Award for Most Effective Internet Presence’; ‘The BankWest Award for Sales Person of the Year (Franchise)’ for Mortgage Broker Darren Edginton; and ‘The Springboard Consulting Group Award for Sales Manager of the Year (Franchise)’ for NSW Manager Michael Daniels.

This is the first year that Smartline has been named Franchise Operation of the Year at the Australian Mortgage Awards.

Now in its fifth year, the Australian Mortgage Awards is the mortgage industry’s premier event recognising the excellence and achievement of its people.

With a total of 21 award categories, the awards draw thousands of nominations each year. Award finalists are evaluated and judged by a panel of esteemed industry figures, who between them select the winner of each award.
