Michael Dudink - Joint Principal

Michael Dudink joined Smartline in 2004 in partnership with Jason Thomson after a long and distinguished banking career primarily in home and investment finance advice.

Michael takes great pride in helping people achieve their home ownership dreams by providing smart and appropriate mortgage advice to ensure that all his clients obtain the finance solution that best meets their needs.

Together with his team, Michael has award winning service standards, market leading industry knowledge and provides the highest quality mortgage advice. 

Michael’s clients and business partners have no hesitation in recommending his service to their friends, family and colleagues with these referrals making up the bulk of his business.

A local of Cairns for almost 20 years, Michael is happily married with three children, enjoys all sports and socialising with family and friends.

Jason Thomson - Joint Principal

Jason has over 21 years of banking and finance industry experience, with the last four years in his own business as a Smartline Mortgage Adviser. With this wealth of knowledge and experience behind him, Jason makes the process of securing a mortgage simple and straightforward.

Jason is committed to providing high quality mortgage advice and ongoing service to his clients. He listens to their needs, taking into account future plans, and researches all the loan options available to provide them with the advice necessary to make an informed decision on the right loan structure for their circumstances.

An investor in local property himself for over 15 years, Jason has a good understanding of gearing and taxation issues associated with rental properties. Through a network of professional business partners, Jason is also able to introduce his clients to legal, taxation and financial planning services to assist with wealth creation strategies.

Jason prides himself on professional and personalised service - something that is the missing element in transactions with many banks and other lenders these days.

With the support of the whole team at Smartline, clients can expect a friendly and stress-free borrowing experience.

Jason was born in Innisfail and has lived in Cairns for over nine years. He is happily married with four children and enjoys jogging, mountain biking and adventure racing.

Michele Annison - Commercial Loans and Leasing

Michele joined the Smartline team in December 2004 after 15 years experience with the Commonwealth Bank. Michele says "Smartline now provides me with the chance to work with a great choice of lenders, flexible working hours to suit the client and the ability to package solutions to really satisfy clients requirements".

Michele says her decision to join the Smartline team was based on "the chance to work with two very dedicated and motivated individuals with extremely good name within the Cairns community -Jason Thomson and Michael Dudink." She also adds that "other deciding factors were the great referral network within the Smartline Group, the great after sales service provided to clients and the fact that I can now work for the client rather than the bank. "

Being a born and bred local of Cairns, Michele has excellent local knowledge and possesses a real knack for making the customer feel totally at ease throughout the whole loan process - a definite people person!

Administration and Processing

Annette Desbrow - Office Manager

19 Years of banking service has taught Annette the difference between customer service and exceptional customer service. In her role at Smartline Home Loans in Cairns, she keeps clients informed each and every step of the way through their home loan experience.

"My role is to liaise between the clients, the solicitors and the lenders, and by doing this, each step of the process is pain-free and hassle-free for the client".

Candace Ah Chin - Administration & Loan Processing

Candace joined Smartline in July 2005 to assist in the roles of administration and loan processing. Candace has extensive finance experience with the Commonwealth Bank, of which the last five years was in the position of Home Lending Manager at the Cairns branch.

Having worked with members of the Smartline Cairns team in the past, Candace’s decision was made relatively easy to come back into the team. “Both Jason and Michael are well respected in the industry and have many satisfied clients”.

She prides herself on great customer service and is always willing to go that extra step.

Amanda Howard - Reception

Amanda joined the Smartline team after 13 years with one of the major banks. Her last five years were in various lending related roles. Having worked previously with all of the Cairns team members made joining Smartline an easy decision. "Smartline provide their clients with a very personalised service and I take great pride in being part of that."
