Brendan and Ruth
It was an easy decision for Ruth and Brendan of Cairns to call Smartline when it came time to purchase the property that they had had their eye on for some time.
The couple had just missed out on purchasing this particular dream home a few years previously and weren’t about to let it happen again. The problem then became the couple’s current home, which would now have to be sold before they could buy ‘the one that got away’.
Ruth and Brendan knew that the quickest way to get a positive result was to contact Smartline Personal Mortgage Adviser, Jason Thomson, who had helped them buy their first home. “The decision to return to Smartline for this purchase was easy, they were fantastic the first time around and really looked after every detail,” said Ruth.
Jason Thomson organised Ruth and Brendan’s finance for the second home despite the fact that they were finding it difficult to sell their current home. This was achieved by negatively gearing their first property to buy the second, a process which was explained to them clearly by Smartline.
“We weren’t being offered what we knew the house was worth so we decided to get a tenant into the second property for another six months in the hope that we would manage to sell by then,” Ruth said.
Ruth said that having a broker streamline the whole process had been a time-saving experience that she would recommend to anyone.
