Cheryl along with her husband Greg Underwood, brought The Mortgage Gallery to the Pilbara town of Karratha in 2006 as one of the first mortgage broking firms to service the Pilbara area.
Having lived in Karratha since 2003 and after becoming involved in Pilbara property themselves, realised the potential that exists in the property market. They now enjoy the opportunity to be able to help others in the Pilbara area realise this potential too.

Smartline Victoria Park Franchisee Kylie Highstead is passionate about helping her clients achieve their home ownership dreams and other life goals.
Kylie started with Smartline in 2007, and worked closely with previous franchisee Rob Whyte, first in administration and then, following the completion of her Diploma in Financial Services (Mortgage Broking), as a mortgage broker.
‘Starting out as an assistant and having such a great mentor in Rob gave me the opportunity to gain knowledge and insight into the broking industry as well as the hands-on experience required to become a broker myself,’ she says. ‘In April 2019, I took the next step in my career, taking over from Rob as Franchise Owner.’
Whether you’re a first home buyer, property investor or simply after a change, Kylie is committed to providing friendly, professional service to make the borrowing process as streamlined and fuss-free as possible. ‘I take a client-focused approach, listening to their needs and providing clear, easy-to-understand and honest lending advice,’ she says. ‘I believe the most important factor when arranging a loan for people is to maintain high-level communication between all parties – clients, agents, conveyancers, etc. It’s also important that my clients feel they can trust my advice on lending matters.’
With extensive knowledge and experience, Kylie is well-equipped to find the loan product most suited to each client’s needs, even if this means looking outside the box. ‘If there’s a way, I’ll find it,’ she says, adding that she provides long-term customer support to ensure a loan continues to perform well across its lifetime: ‘We’re with you from your initial appointment until your loan is paid off.’
The Smartline office is located in Victoria Park and predominantly services the surrounding suburbs, including Como, South Perth, Kensington, East Vic Park, Lathlain, Carlisle, Kewdale, Cloverdale, Rivervale and Belmont. Kylie can assist with all types of loans, including home, investment or business loans, and asset finance and is fully mobile if required.

Nic brings with her, a strong family-focussed work ethic, which stems from spending her younger years in the family retail business, and understands how a business can become successful by treating it’s customers with the respect and care they deserve. She started her journey into the finance industry in 2004, with experience in client service, account management, with a move to lending in more recent years.
Throughout this time she has gained valuable knowledge on all facets of the loan process and was fortunate enough to be given many opportunities to assist clients in many different loans beginning with vehicle finance through to eventually assisting with home finance – her passion.
Nic says, “It is such a privilege to be able to assist in helping people reach their goals of first home ownership, or buying additional properties. Making it a great experience for clients, exceeding their expectations. I just love being involved in such an exciting step for so many Australians.”
