Award trifecta for Smartline Greenacres

Despite all its challenges, 2021 proved to be a highly successful year for Kamal Aeri and Harry Pal from Smartline Greenacres. As their business continued to grow through referrals and repeat customers, the calibre of their customer service and expertise were acknowledged with a trifecta at the annual Smartline Awards.

The team were named Franchise Owner of the Year SA/NT. This prestigious accolade recognises excellence across all facets of a mortgage broking franchise, including business growth, marketing and community profile, quality of loan applications and client service and care, and is a testament to the high benchmark set by Kamal and Harry. They also won the Business Growth Award and High Achievement Award, and were finalists in the Insurance Award SA/NT category.

Kamal and Harry said winning the awards is a particularly significant achievement given the high level of competition in the marketplace at the moment. ‘There are so many great brokers out there, and competition is getting more and more fierce. But these awards demonstrate that we are still leading the way, which is fantastic for us and for our customers.’

While the awards undeniably add credibility to the business and help assure customers of the team’s capabilities, Kamal and Harry said that ultimately, earning the respect and trust of the local community comes down to professionalism, integrity, and responsive service.

‘We believe that caring for our customers is fundamental to the ongoing success of our business. People come back to us because they know we will look after them and we have the industry experience to deliver a favourable result.’

Kamal and Harry are both fluent in Hindi and Punjabi as well as English, and enjoy working with individuals and families from a diverse range of multicultural communities.

These awards affirm the Greenacres team’s reputation as industry leaders and come on top of an already impressive list of honours. Since establishing the business around five years ago, Kamal and the team have accrued over a dozen industry awards.

‘We couldn’t have achieved all this without our valued clients – and without them, the awards would mean nothing,’ Kamal and Harry said. ‘At the end of the day our success is about having a loyal base of satisfied customers.’

Award-Winning Mortgage Brokers Smartline Greenacres

Kamal Aeri and the Team are among Smartline’s most highly awarded Mortgage Advisers, having collected nine Smartline awards over the past two years, as well as two prestigious MFAA awards in 2019.

‘It’s wonderful to achieve this level of industry recognition,’ says Kamal, who is the Franchise Owner at Smartline Greenacres in South Australia. ‘It builds our credibility within the local community and has helped to grow our business.

At this year’s Smartline National Conference, Kamal and the Team won awards across a broad range of categories, showcasing their outstanding performance in all areas of mortgage broking. They were awarded Marketing Champion SA/NT Winner, Business Growth Award, and the High Achievement Award in recognition of their consistently high levels of expertise, professionalism and astute business skills. They also won the Client Care Award, and were finalists in the coveted Franchise Owner of the Year SA/NT category.

The MFAA Excellence Awards celebrate the work of the industry’s best brokers, businesses and industry professionals in the areas of demonstrated exceptional customer service, professionalism, ethics, growth and innovation. At the 2019 SA/NT MFAA Awards, which were held in May, Kamal & the Team edged out the best and brightest operators from around the state when they won Loan Administrator Award for SA/NT. They then competed as finalists in that category at the National Awards. This high-level recognition was completely unexpected, says Kamal. ‘I never thought we would win, it was just amazing.’

He believes the team’s dedicated and thoughtful approach to customer service helped them secure the industry awards. One example of this is their flexibility and responsiveness to clients’ needs: ‘In response to client feedback, we stretch our working hours to 9 pm to improve our availability for clients. I think this has made a crucial impact, because a lot of our clients work nine-to-five jobs, so it makes life easier for them if they can visit us after-hours.’

Kamal is proud of the team’s achievements, and says that winning industry awards has had a positive impact on the business, helping affirm their expertise and reliability with the customers. ‘When the client comes in for their initial consultation and sees all these certificates, they can see that we’re not just your average brokers. It builds our credibility, demonstrates that we know what we know what we are doing, and they can trust the advice we are giving to them.’
