Four Green Point streets in the Australian TOP-10

Little ol’ Green Point has dominated a national report that recently revealed Australia’s most popular streets.

Researchers at realestate.com.au have analysed data from their property portal over the past three years to February and determined where the most in-demand streets are, based on views per listing.

Eight out of the top 10 most in-demand streets in Australia were located in NSW, with an astounding four of them in Green Point.

Dalgety Cres, Allandale Rd, Asca Dr and Bayside Rd were the list and Bellbower Cl appeared on a New South Wales top ten. No other Central Coast suburb’s made the cut on either report.

Realestate.com’s Nerida Conisbee said that the popularity could be attributed to a few factors.

“Green Point is close to the water, close to Erina, the beaches and Gosford train station,” she said.

“It also has a great price point for first home buyers, especially coming from Sydney.”

This house on Bayside Dr was sold by Gittoes last year.

With a median house price of $730,000, the suburb is above average for the Central Coast, which has an overall median of $636,150.

However for Sydneysiders, who often can’t even afford a unit for this much, the value often proves irresistible.

Local real estate agent Blake Stretton from Gittoes East Gosford has been working in the Green Point area for about eight years and said that it was one of the best suburbs on the coast.

“It has such a convenient proximity to everything and a big variety of homes,” he said.

“There are three schools, multiple preschools, Coles, Aldi and plenty of other small businesses and restaurants.”

Mr Stretton’s clients Mark and Cherie Brown are lucky enough to own property on two of the in-demand street’s.

The couple purchased an investment property from him near the water on Bayside Dr and they also currently live on Asca Dr.

Mr Brown said that he was surprised to hear about the street’s being so popular, but it was definitely good news.

“We are really happy being in Green Point, it’s good value compared to places like Point Frederick. Our house on Asca is on the water and we will probably move there in the future,” he said.

Mr Stretton noticed that Asca Drive was a particularly popular street due to its waterfront reserve location and privacy.
