I’ve been in broking and banking for over 30 years!
I joined Smartline around 8 years ago and I’m so glad I did. The advisers at Smartline are, without exception, a great bunch of people who are passionate about achieving great outcomes for their clients. We love what we do and have strong ethics. I’m very proud to be part of an exceptional group of people.
I am inspired by many people. I am often in awe of our children and young people in particular. They seem to do such amazing things and are so clever and confident with their ideas. Children are great problem solvers and they are open to exploring new ideas. Interestingly, these are great attributes for a broker! Everyone has their own story and each client’s unique history and psychology contribute to their current financial circumstances and goals for the future. So, being willing and able to look outside the box is essential – there is no ‘one’ way to do things when it comes to finance.
I would really love to see more women in this industry. There are so many skills required to be a great broker and I think a lot of these skills come naturally to women. Women are a perfect fit for this career, and it offers so many opportunities both financial and personally.
Favourite quote? “Never say your age out loud. Your face might hear it!”
Favourite movie or book? Helen Garner is one of my favourite authors. She has a uniquely Australian voice. She weaves scraps of ordinary people’s lives into seamless literary works which resonate with anyone who’s ever dreamed or loved, failed or triumphed. A good example is “Joe Cinque’s Consolation”.
What makes you jump out of bed each day? Every day is different and it’s never mundane. I know the day will be action packed, so up I get!
