Hornsby Berowra Mens Shed - David Gillan (President) & Andrew Wright (Smartline)

On December 2nd, Andrew Wright, owner of Smartline Personal Mortgage Advisers Hornsby was delighted to drop into the Hornsby Berowra Men’s Shed (HMBS) to deliver a cheque for $500 as part of Smartline’s community grants program.

Andrew was able to spend some time with HMBS President, David Gillan, hearing about the great work they are doing in the local community bringing together retired and unemployed men together to undertake work to benefit the community and themselves. In particular, HMBS looks to undertake work for the for those who may not be able to do, or afford, the work themselves. HMBS also provides a sense of mateship for its volunteers and promotes a healthy lifestyle for senior men.

Giving back is a big part of Smartline and its people always look for ways to make meaningful contributions to the community. HMBS was one of 50 community groups recognised Australia-wide as part of the 2015 community grants program. Recipients of the grants were nominated by Smartline clients and their friends.
